This is a charitable foundation founded through the AACD. Dr. Tieken is one of many dentist & lab technicians that volunteer their time to restore the broken and damaged teeth of domestic violence survivors. BAM! Is the newest "FINE ART" creation, led by J. Derek Tieken, DDS. A leader and visionary in the Bay Area since 1990, Dr. Tieken decided to create a special way of saying, "Thank You," to the community that has treated him so well. In 2004, his gratitude led to founding this unique professional team. "Giving back joy in life, using makeover services as a tangible via, seemed a natural way to accomplish my goal," states Tieken.

Out Reach Dental Education Program – Local Elementary school kids are educated to the benefits of healthy teeth and complimentary screening for those kids do not have access to dental care.

Local Fun Run Sponsored by Dr. Tieken - James Glenn Foundation – as an event sponsor of the Fun Run. Proceeds go in the memory of local high school graduate James Glenn. Funds raised in James memory provide college scholarships for deserving students.

American Cancer Society – Since everyone has been touched by cancer in some way or another, Tieken smiles feels strongly about supporting this great organization.

Local School Carnivals – Dr. Tieken has been a contributor to these local programs for years. It is a way to increase revenues for PTA’s and support childhood education.

Holiday Food and Toy Drive – The Tieken Smiles Team & family of patients have provided local families in need a Happier Holiday season thru this special event each year.
